So, in anticipation for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, I’ve been doodling some of the cutest clothes I’m hoping to get via QR codes. I was going to make them digital and colorful and pretty, but I literally just rage-executed my dying tablet today when it refused to do a single thing.

I also planned to open for requests to draw all the characters my followers are going to make as well. ): I just ordered a brand new Bamboo Create, though, so whenever it comes in I’ll color these up and open up for the requests.

I’m going to see if watching The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross will help. That man was a master with the canvas, and he always said such inspiring and feel-good things. Maybe I’ll try to get into doing some landscapes… Might be relaxing?

"Project Dreamkiller" - Animation

This entire thing began around four years ago, if I recall correctly, when a friend sent me a song he had done before moving from Michigan. Something about the song had hit me in such a manner that I couldn’t stop listening to it, studying it, taking in every little detail and the way that he had constructed it. This man, who I am no longer in contact with, is an absolutely brilliant individual, and I await the music, movies, books, and anything else he releases into the world. If it wasn’t for him and his passion for his work, I wouldn’t have been inspired to do my own animation.

Shortly after he had sent me the song, I began writing what would be the first rough draft of the screenplay. Without the tools or the knowledge of how to go about animating something myself, I let it sit on my computer, until I revived it last year by completely re-writing the screenplay. The storyboard is now under way, and once I have a laptop and the software, I will begin to bring this to life.

The animation will run around 22 minutes in length, credits and all, and is set in a future corporate-based dystopia. The main character is in her late 20’s, greatly malnourished and mentally unstable, but she is a superb hacker and uses these skills to get around the system. She spends most of her time downloading movies, music, books, games, etc., to bide her time with, and becomes particularly obsessed with a series that never really got big. She begins to hallucinate the main character from the show, out of her obsession and her loneliness, but he takes on a much darker persona…

While I will not reveal the entire plot as of yet, to avoid spoilers, I will be posting storyboard frames and many works-in-progress of the various stages of animation. It should only be a mere week or two until I can get a laptop to do the work on (I am unable to sit at my computer right now due to back problems) and a drawing tablet that isn’t dying. I am very excited for all of this.

Today is Adam’s birthday. 700 year old wanker is what he is.

I’m going to be explaining further about what exactly I’m going to be doing in regards to the animation and the comic, where Adam is a crucial character to both projects, so to begin I’m going to talk a bit about him.

Adam Alexander Faust is the half-demon son to a demonic lord. Born in Germany in the year 1313 (as cliche as it is, I wanted him to turn 700 this year), he lived alongside his half-brother, Gabriel. Before he became of age, he fled from his home and has been wandering the world since.

Adam has a small assortment of abilities, such as fishing, acrobatics, fire magic and pickpocketing. He enjoys meat, potatoes, milk, and rum. He can’t cook to save his life (burns -everything-) and steals whatever tickles his fancy. Technology scares him to some degree, and he hates being in automobiles and aircrafts. He is an impish little trickster, and enjoys the simple things in life.

He is ageless, but not immortal, so-to-speak. He can starve, drown, suffocate, bleed to death, etc. etc. but he will never simply get old and die. He’ll be in his late teens / early twenties until something kills him.

The comic will go into much greater detail about his life and how he develops over the years, and it follows him from the 1300’s to a few years in the future from modern day. Many things happen, and many interesting points in time will be featured, such as the Black Death and Victorian England. A few friends are found, too - Kirill, a Russian alchemist and plague doctor, and Jelly, a synthetic humanoid robot built in the likeness of a colorful cat. In the end, he must face his greatest fears in order to protect a family he never knew he had.

In the animation, he serves as the hallucination and conscience of the main character, and constantly ridicules, teases and lies to her. He is very out-of-character in the animation because of the main character and her twisted mind, and thus acts more impish and evil than he normally would.
